Mellowmuse SATV – I’m in Love!

I recently posted the news of the Mellowmuse SATV plug-in, suggesting it may be an alternative to HEAT for those of us not able to stretch to Pro Tools HD or indeed HD Native!

Tonight I have had the first chance to play with it, after about 30 minutes of trying it on bass, acoustic, electric, voice and across the Master buss, I have to say I’m impressed.

I’m fortunate enough to have a lot of plug-ins and I have similar ones such as Tape Channel, Reel Tape Saturation etc. but not have impressed me as much as the SATV – this one is so gorgeous.

Mellowmuse say this; ‘SATV is analogue modelled saturation plug-in with four preset models, perfect for adding harmonic depth and richness to any material.

My advice is download the demo and try it on your mixes, it makes bass guitars sound all warm and thick, like a chocolate milkshake, gives electric guitars body and acoustic guitars presence. This one could become my go-to plug-in!
