Xenakios has made a REAPER Plugin for the sound design tool CDP. This is a massive workflow improvement over the old way of typing into Terminal.

This extension makes CDP way more accessible and fun to use with great integration with REAPER.

Kyle caught something I missed in the video, the trickiest part of the installation.

once CDP is installed (automated unzip) and your Reaper plugin is installed, it will ask you for the folder where the CDP binaries are located on first use. The folder you want to direct to is:

\_cdp\_cdprogs

Using the search bar to find _cdprogs is the fastest way

THIS IS AWESOME! The CDP tools interface for Renoise leaves a lot to be desired so I’m really happy to see this! Thanks for sharing!!!

CDP download link is down. Also Chrome is quite convinced that the CDP extention from Xenakios contains a virus, I’ve downloaded some of this stuff before and it’s fantastically useful. So I’m not worried. But it might put off others from trying out this great tool

I got around the chrome security issues by downloading in Internet Explorer – no issues there. If the CDP page is down , keep refreshing – probably getting the Reaper hug of death 😛

    Hello, I’m back again,
I am still having problems getting the CDP extension working with Reaper on my Mac book Pro running OSX 10.10. My copy of Reaper is the 64 bit version.
I am having a lot of trouble getting it to initalise correctly, let alone even run.
According to the ‘install / setup procedure’, after the extension is installed in the Reaper Resource folder and the Reaper software is booted up and running the CDP extension in reaper should ask for the path to the CDP software is so it can use this software with the extension to use. Yet my system never asks me for this path name. When I call up the actions menu and type in ‘find CDP’, into the search box in the upper left hand corner of the screen, the reaper finds the extension, but does nothing, just sits there, looking back at me. Thirdly, while the SWS extension does show up in the extension Menu to the right of the Actions Menu, the CDP extension does not show up. I have reinstalled my 64 bit version of reaper. Do these details help ant extra bit? Thanks

    Barry
