A little while ago I put up some tips to work smarter in the DAW and asked for tips and tricks from the audience. In this video I read some of the comments that came in from YouTube.

TL;DR
– Re-arrange your room. Keep your setup organized.
– Use and set keyboard shortcuts. Use custom actions.
– Make folders for your different types of plugins. (Eqs, Comps, FX)
– Find an appealing theme / Set a comfortable layout for your screen.
– Use folders track to check phase alignment. (Check http://bit.ly/1RPROAb)
– Keep your interface and gear connected and ready to go.
– Learn new techniques and try using it in a song.
– Make track templates.
– Delete unused plugins.
– Watch all of The Reaper Blog’s videos.
– Dedicate time to customize your DAW to your needs.
– Put your sample libraries on SSD.
– Use multiple displays.
– Install SWS and fly over the action list.
– Hide tracks that you do not need.
– Focus on one task at a time. If you are songwriting, do not worry about mixing.
– Organize song sections with the use of regions and markers.
– Save plugins presets.
– Save FX chains.
