In this short tutorial I solve the problem of grouping items after editing so they are grouped across tracks, but not across items on the same track. I don’t know about you guys but this happens to me fairly often.

I’m using the script “Group selected items according to their order in selection per track” by X-Raym to group and color the items.

Important note – if your edits are not aligned across the tracks, like if there are more edits on one track or a missing item, the script will get confused. So watch out for that, run the script on smaller selections around the problem areas.

I recommend getting this script through ReaPack. http://reapack.com

Or get the script from X-Raym’s free script pack here http://www.extremraym.com/en/my-reaper-scripts/
