I’m often asked about the number buttons in my custom toolbar, those are for quick access to various grid sizes. This is one of the big time savers I set up years ago in my toolbar that I haven’t’ given a lot of thought about since, even though I use it nearly every time I work on music projects.
In this video you will see how it works and how to set it up yourself.

Thank you. I haven’t played around with customizing Reaper toolbars yet. After watching your video, I decided it was time to start, gave it a try. Grid snap to numbers are definitely useful, I’ll use them a lot.

Hi. I work in speech rather than music, so I use real time in the grid. Is there a way to set custom grid size for real time?

there is no time grid other than video frames.

What you can do instead is set the project tempo to 240 so grid lines match seconds. You can also set the project start measure to 0 instead of 1.
