David Bode has created an excellent tutorial on setting up the Korg nanoKontrol 2 with REAPER over on the AudioTuts site. The nanoKontrol is an inexpensive and compact USB control surface with 8 knobs, 8 short faders and a ton of buttons. Once set up, it can control faders, pan, solo, mute, rec enable, play, stop, record and more.

Reaper’s native Mackie Control drivers did not work for me. Glitchy AF. This works great: https://github.com/Pierousseau/reaper_generic_control (props to Pierousseau)
