AHmusic has started making REAPER tutorials with a focus on useful custom actions and scripts. In his first tutorial he’s showing the great Chords, Scales & Arpeggios actions and menu set by Aeolian1.

Setup Steps:
1. In Reaper’s Options menu, click on “Customize Menus/Toolbars”
2. In the dropdown menu at the top left corner, select “MIDI Piano Roll Context”
3. Click import, then select “chords_scales_arps.ReaperMenu”
4. Close the menu editor.

I am using it in Win 10. As admin said verify the steps carefully. Then right clicking in piano roll should give you the chord menus.

I’ve got the menus appearing, but nothing happens when I try to insert a chord using the right-click menu. I get the menu, but when I try to insert a major chord while aligned with the C2 note for example, nothing gets inserted. Reaper 5.35 on W10. Any ideas?

If you see the option to input the chords but they are not showing up; click Actions, Show action list, then click key map, & import the file.
