Jon demonstrates the Matching EQ mode of EQuivocate in a mastering session in REAPER. Matching EQ compares the sidechain signal to the source track signal and builds a frequency curve to reconcile the differences.

With this mode we can quickly bring a song with a drastically different EQ to a closer starting point with the rest of the songs on the album. It’s surprisingly effective and so quick to set up.

Previously we looked at using EQuivocate for filtering out the nasties in electric guitars

EQuivocate is a new EQ plugin developed by Newfangled Audio and distributed by Eventide. About a month ago it was available for free and is now available for $99.
