Today I’m sharing a set of 48 impulse responses that are made using the technique I showed in this video, which is an entirely ‘synthetic’ way of making reverbs. Use them to create space and depth in a mix, without being attached to the idea of it being a real place or device.

Here’s a video going through the making of this IR pack and some demonstrations of the sound and how you can use them with ReaVerb or other convolution reverbs like Fog Convolver.

Download the free impulse response pack here: reaperblog IRs

Guide to filenames:

125; 250; 500; 1000 = decay time ms
A = fast-end fade vol and Lpf
B = linear fade vol and Lpf
C = fast-start fade vol and Lpf
01 = no fx
02 = Doubler
03 = Clean Delay Widener
04 = Formant Shift

Example: IRx1000_02A.wav would be 1second long, with doubler effect and fast-end fade shape for volume and low pass filter.

I think it would be great if anyone wants to take this idea and make more free reverbs to share with the community.

    If you plan carefully and record okay enough you can literally make your own IR’s.
    Noise, closets/boxes/drawers/cabinets, rooms/multi-story buildings, halls/stadiums/other spaces, pickup coil effects like clicks and hums, natural sounds (even altered ones)?
    The only literal limit then is your imagination?
    And oh do I imagine; Even dream about them at night or a random daydream?
