In this video we’ll be exporting a bunch of edited smash/crash/impact samples and bringing them into KONTAKT on separate keys.
I’m using the full version of KONTAKT 5 here, but it’s exactly the same in v6.

Along the way there are several little tips in here like:
– converting markers to regions (sws extension)
– creating folders from the render window (just add a / in the file name box)
– batch file renaming in MacOS
– mapping to white-keys only

To see how I got to this point in the project, please see this previous video on the sample editing.

Recording and editing the Crashbox Sound Library

The samples I’m using come from my Crashbox pack I made for my Patrons.

If you’d like see more on making instruments with KONTAKT, such as mapping multi-velocity, melodic samples, please let me know in the comments.

Yeah I’d love to see a video on creating an instrument with sustained samples. I’ve wanted to make my own KONTAKT instrument for my bassoon for awhile and am not sure where to start on sustained samples
