Do you consider to add any fader and metering stuff? I dream of customized cue tab and stuff like this. 🙂
yes we considered but it just doesn’t work very well. The connection is too slow to be useful for this sort of thing.
Check out touch osc app on ipad/app store (im running it on an old original ipad; the first one)
It’s much better for what you’re looking for. The response time and such. 🙂
I just started using TouchOSC, it works quite well. I recently bailed on Studio Artist One and have come back to Reaper. Having the “remote” capabilities is an important matter.
However it doesn’t rule the web remote builder out either. The layout and functionality of WRB is amazing. Just different things is all.
Yeah, I know the OSC stuff, but I also lke to add some Reaperactions 😀
Call me dumb, but isn’t the “more_me” WBR preset anything like this? I mean for a cue mix it doens’t have to be fast or anything, right?
“more-me” is made by Cockos and included with reaper. Works great for cue mixes but it would be terrible to draw automation with it. Web remotes update in ~60-80ms blocks and that’s no good for continuous control. With ReaperWRB you can easily add actions to nudge the volume of a track in 1dB increments. We may add a module to show which track is selected to help with things like that.
You can edit TouchOSC layouts to send custom actions but it’s harder to do.
I have some videos comparing the connection response of web remote and TouchOSC
Ah, allright. I just assumed we (I mean you) could just copythe html-fader-part of the more_me-thingy 😀 thanks for your replies!
Hello Jon,
Will WRB run on a Fire HD 8 Tablet? I’m looking to purchase a relatively inexpensive tablet.
Thanks a bunch!
Hi! We have some users with that tablet. It works well for remote, but the editor won’t be available due to the smaller size of the screen.
Thanks so much for the reply!
Are there any tablets you would recommend – those which would be ideal for overall WRB use?
Will this run a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime phone?
Thanks!
should work. probably limited to 4 buttons wide and 3 high.
