Thanks for your video featuring razor edits.

I found an immediate use since I tend to write/sketch my songs out of sequence; or, at least find myself creating regions then using a left click to rearrange them as I progress.

If I have phrases A, B, C, D, now I can quickly razor edit my sketch to C-A-D-B.

IMHO this becomes way easier for my workflow.

    Thank you.

I’m trying to set up the routing for recording vocals such that the signal is processed on one channel and actually recorded to a different track. I know that description might not make sense. I’ve linked a .pdf with a description of how to do this in Logic Pro and Pro Tools. Look at pages 7 and 8 of the linked document. I’ve not been able to figure out how to do this in Reaper. Can you help?

reaper has an input fx chain for each track. That would do it with a single track.

Razor Editing creates fades in and out on the edges of items only when you copy a selection. When you cut and move it, it does not create fades, but the classic selection does. So, to keep the benefits of razor edit, you have to juggle between these two selection systems (which requires more concentration) instead of having only one system. This is a shame.
