I’ve just updated the Video Tools course with 2 new videos and 12 new presets, bringing the total presets to 36 in this pack.
I’m really excited about this update because these new presets are effects I haven’t seen done before in REAPER, and they’re things I’ve been using in my videos over the past few months.

I’m particularly proud of the Item Fades to X transition presets which are about as close to ‘drag and drop’ transitions you can get with REAPER video making. Simply add the plugin to a video clip, select a transition preset, and use an item fade instead of automation. This should be very fast and intuitive for new users.
List of new presets in 1.5 update
- Glitch Effector – Random video color corruption that updates every frame
- Glitch Lines – overlay randomized color stripe
- Glitch Text Overlay – generate text with random color glitch effects
- Glitch Blocks Fixed Color – random rectangles of a single color
- Glitch Blocks Random Color – random rectangles of random color
- Random Text Generator – generate a random string of text characters
- Gradient Color Fill – fill the frame with an adjustable color gradient
- Item fades to slide transitions – transition a video into/out of view based on length and shape of item fade starting from edge.
- Item fades to corner slide transitions – transition a video into/out of view based on length and shape of item fade starting from corner.
- Item fades to crop transitions – reveal a video into/out of view based on length and shape of item fade.
- item fades to zoom transitions – grow/shrink transition based on length and shape of item fade. Centered or from corners
- Item fades to Pan – simple “Ken Burns effect” horizontal or vertical movement on zoomed image based on length of fade.
Along with the new presets there is an overview video demonstrating everything, and another bonus tutorial on using texture images in video production.
