Hey Jon,
Thanks for another Q and A video. The record input settings are amazing. Been looking for the midi overdub feature forever..! Thank you so much..!
I have one question that I would like to ask to you..
I always change the Timebase to Time when I am working on music to films.
And with that selected, the audio sticks to time, but the midi items still move around when I change the tempo in between the scene.
I have found out about the sws extension “Enable ‘Ignore project tempo’ for selected midi items and preserve time position of midi events (use tempo at item’s start)”.
But I would like to know if this action would take place without having to select every midi item every time I put one.
Once again thanks for such amazing videos on the blog..!
Cheers..!

Happy to have come across this blog for all things REAPER.
A couple of quick questions: Maybe I haven’t searched the docs and forums well enough, but:
1) I’d love to have my MIDI recording set to “overdub” by default when creating an Instrument track- is there a way to do this?
2) Is there a way of keeping windows like “I/O Routing” open when I click another child window (like a VSTi etc.)? Having to constantly re-click the little “I/O” box on the track gets old quickly.
I realize it isn’t your job to answer these, but “a closed mouth don’t get fed”, as the saying goes..
I think those are possible but I’ll have to look it up.
