A new Cubase inspired theme was recently posted by Cube13 and it looks great. Eyssina by Cube13 is an advanced theme for REAPER V5 with lots of extras. The install requires extra attention so please backup files and read the instructions thoroughly. Go to the forum for all the details.
This theme is supposed to be used with Reaper 5 (including ‘pre’ and ‘RC’ releases). Don’t expect it to be efficiently usable with Reaper 4.xx…
An important thing, I think, needs a reminder : for the ones patient enough to fully test this theme, and as for the ‘Piolit’ one, be sure to install everything bundled in the .zip file, by following the instructions listed in the Readme.txt one. I admit that some of them are tedious, especially the ones related to the layout actions, as there is no way to save these in a dedicated file which would considerably ease the theme distribution process, but well… At the end, the whole theme (which could be thinked as an environment) makes really sense if everything is installed and ready to work.
This theme is based on the PiolitFM theme by the same creator. If you are not upgrading to V5 then this is the theme for you.
Update Jan 2015 – Eyssina is now in the CubicPack with the other Cubase-like theme Frema.

Uugh! I’ve been trying to fully get rid of Cubase. I no longer upgrade it and just find Reaper so much more productive. Looking at this is depressing.
This is a theme a user created and its totally optional. A lot of REAPER users come from many years of using other daws and themes like this can make the transition to REAPER much smoother.
I hate fucking cubase. I bought updates for years. It does not work on windows, it is a bugged piece of shit!!! On mac it seems to work, but steinberg offers it for windows, so no excuse here. It crashes every fucking 60 minutes and my pc is clean.I reinstalled my whole pc tousand times and thought it is my fault, but every other program always worked fine.I am a IT freak, and I know what I do. I hope steinberg idiots burn in hell. Steinberg became a company like Apple and Dr.Dre, selling us a super cool modern trendy image, instead of high quality products. My reaper works like it should, and it never crashed or did anything strange. It is also very well programmed, I mean look at the size of the installer <3 Thanks Cockos 😀
looks beautiful but I always found the Cubase UI very hard for a beginner to learn :/ – Reaper is just so easy! It was some good invested money 🙂
I found the opposite. I spent a day a whole day trying to do an initial set up in reaper for my 4 MOTU 24 i/o boxes and just gave up after 8 hours. Theres no control room mixer in Reaper either and judging by the amount of time it took me to get nowhere with setting up my audio for the MOTUs then routing audio to a seperate control room mixer that Cubse actually has, was another quagmire I wasnt willing to tackle. On top of that I was gonna have to learn Reaper which is time I dont have. I already know how to use Cubase so any “drawbacks” are more than offset by the drawbacks of setting up and learning a whole new interface.
Looks awesome.
Its super cool to be able to do this… But there’s no need for reaper to emulate the other animals.. We already dig you reaper! Just be you!
When wil Reaper 5 be a available for download
They always say “when it’s ready”. It’s RC stage now so not too long probably. It’s public beta so you can try it now.
I love this in your face cubase theme. I use cubebass as it came with my Yammer. But the functionality is just a nitemare! Reaper blows them out of the park with their easy to navigate program, undo arrows, Action list, view list, preferences, not to mention the very very easy to use and navagate MIDI editor. They even label it correctly! Did I mention I love Reaper? ; )
Anyone looking for a Cubase style theme? http://t.co/IMHMfizvi7

Am a convert from Cubase however, REAPER white imperial multi screen is the best layout I have ever used.
WT is great, but only for those that have very large monitors. Does not work well on my dual 1680×1050 screens.

I don’t see any point of replicating other’s DAW interface in Reaper. You want Cubase, use Cubase. No one will use Reaper because it looks like Cubase or Pro Tools. You’ll use Reaper because it has better features, tools or not. I do think that Cockos should revamp a bit their interface for release the next release, as people end up spending way too much time designing interfaces and customisations then making music.
When we mentioning Cubase are there any plans for finally making expression articulation in midi editor? That is the only thing that I miss in Reaper deeply for all those years.
it’s almost like old times…
