Have you ever run into the problem of MIDI items in REAPER playing at the wrong pitch after a bend in a previous item? So frustrating!!!

There are several preferences related to resetting pitch but they don’t seem to solve this particular problem. It would be really great if pitch was automatically reset at the start of each item, but for now here’s how to fix the problem

If you use a bend somewhere on the track you’ll want to put in some resets at the start of other items. Add a change to the Pitch CC lane, select it and open Event Properties (⌘/CTRL-F2).

Set the value to 8192, the middle point for pitch bend.

Incredible useful tip, thanks a bunch Jon !

Totally offtopic, but i also wish there was some kind of pitch bend quantisation function in Reaper,
so, when i take my hand of the pitchbend wheel (after having moved it), the pitchbend value would always snap to a nearest semitone.
Would be so incredible handy if you ask me :0)

Sounds very helpful and makes sense. I think that it might be some trouble because each instrument can have it’s own setting of the pitch bend range.

Maybe you can do this with actions or scripts.

Wow, just ran into this and I don’t know how I would ever have solved it without your tutorial. That is the dumbest thing I’ve seen in Reaper, which I’m generally a fan of.
