Today I was editing some drums and had the idea to show one of my favorite editing tricks. It’s so simple and that’s why I love it. Is “flying” the right word for this edit? What would you call it?
All you do is find a matching clean drum hit from earlier or later in the track. Select it and CMD-Drag it over the bad hit. I do this often with bass editing too.
If you need a drum editor I can be found at www.beatfixx.com

What’s the right term for this kind of edit? RT @reaperblog: New Post – Quick Tip: Flying Edit: http://t.co/yfLYJGQGBw
@theaudiogeek @reaperblog I never thought about what it’s called. I like “flying” though, makes it sound way more exciting than it is.

I’m not sure on the name.
Since you’re doing a hit replacement by hand…maybe it’s called a “Handie.”
“I just need to do a few handies before this will be ready to go to the mixer.”
Perfect!
