In this REAPER update we see track guides for moving items, improvements to Automation Item workflow, and assignable shortcuts to add FX and FX Chains to tracks and items.

 

 

00:29 – Arrange view: highlight the track with horizontal move guides when moving media items
01:38 – Arrange view: show move guides when dragging media into the project
01:54 – Automation items: add action to convert all project automation to automation items
02:38 – Automation items: delete selected automation items when deleting media items
03:08 – split selected automation items when splitting media items
04:26 – Envelopes: when moving or copying an unpooled automation item to a mute envelope, convert all points to square shape
05:22 – MIDI: add options for displaying CC lanes in arrange view: no lanes, first lane visible in MIDI editor, one combined lane, or multiple lanes
06:30 – themeable fill mode for chased MIDI CC data in arrange view
07:11 – Preferences: improve UI for adding/removing VST plug-in search paths
07:46 – FX: add support for assigning shortcuts to insert specific FX or FX chains
09:45 – optionally show assigned shortcuts in the Add FX dialog (Options/Show in FX list)
10:16 – Inserting plugins via shortcut follows Preferences/Plug-ins “Auto-open FX windows after quick-add”

    Holy hell, man!

    This video just saved me HOURS over my lifetime. I now can add ReaEQ, Console 1, and a saturation plugin of my choosing (depending on the shortcut I use) to as many tracks as I want at a time.
