When working with MIDI items in REAPER there are many times you may need to split apart or mix together multiple MIDI items. Separating multiple MIDI channels from single items, separating drum parts, etc.

In this video you’ll see several applications of the following actions:

Item: Explode multichannel audio or MIDI to new one-channel items
Item: Explode MIDI note rows (pitch) to new items

Item: Implode items across tracks into items on one track

Custom: MIDI Merge Items across Tracks

Item: Set item mix behavior to always mix
Item: Implode items across tracks into items on one track
Item: Glue items, ignoring time selection
Item: Set item mix behavior to project default

Quick update with additional ideas for what you can do with the MIDI after splitting
