In this tutorial Jon shows how to set up Addictive Drums to send multiple outputs to REAPER’s mixer.

AD2 is the easiest plugin to set up for this that I’ve tried, but there are still a couple things you’ll want to be careful with.

  1. Insert virtual instrument on new track…
  2. choose Addictive Drums 2
  3. click ‘Yes’ in the routing confirmation window
  4. REAPER will add named tracks for each of AD2’s mixer tracks and add a pre-fader send to each
  5. You may want to put all the tracks into a folder, make sure the track with Addictive Drums is in the folder. Don’t make the Addictive Drums track the folder or it won’t work.
  6. in AD2’s mixer you need to assign each track to an output with the [⬇] button at the bottom of each track. “Separate Out (Pre-Fader)” is most likely the option you’ll want to use
  7. Tip – hover mouse over the [⬇] button and roll mousewheel to assign outputs quickly. Even faster, hold cmd/ctrl and select an output to assign all at once!
  8. The reverb/delay and any tracks that are not assigned separate outputs will go through the track named “Master”.

Thank you, this tutorial was very helpful. I am new to the electronic side of music production and this really helped make sense of three or four drum packages I’ve downloaded.

    Cheers,

How do we determine levels of the individual tracks when the calibration disappears?

the individual tracks in reaper will show the level of the drums. Addictive Drums comes out a bit loud so I came up with some options here
